With three decades of devoted toil and a cabinet full of awards under their belt, Coopers Creek have fashioned themselves a formidable reputation within the upper echelons of New Zealand winemaking. Over the years they have come and gone from our shelves as their focus between local and international markets has shifted, and we have to say we’re thrilled to once again have them firmly ensconced within our stores.

With their longstanding love of innovation, Coopers Creek have led the charge on many fronts, not least the development of a number of intriguing varieties that have responded favourably to our cooler climate. The likes of Viognier, Albariño, Arneis, Grüner Veltliner, Marsanne, and Montepulciano are relatively new varieties for New Zealand, and if the early signs are anything to go by, these are heading for the podium.

You’ll find these precocious prodigies under Coopers Creek’s SV (Select Vineyards) range, sitting confidently alongside the benchmark Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon expressions. They are food-friendly wines, carefully crafted by award-winning winemaker Simon Nunns to evoke the essence of their respective terroirs as they inspire and excite your palate.

Simon Nunns

Not only highly experienced and talented as a winemaker, Simon's a sought after wine judge, educator and speaker. He's been winemaker at Coopers Creek Vineyard Ltd since 1998. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Viticulture and Oenology from Lincoln University and has worked harvests in Oregon, Bordeaux and Burgundy. Simon judges in a number of wine competitions both in New Zealand and Australia. Apart from wine, his interests include food, art, architecture, history, music and most especially, road cycling.
